21.05.2026 Drei Aktionen - mach mit!

Raise your voice against the new arms race!

As a member of the Friedenskooperative network, we would like to highlight three events this summer and encourage you to participate. As stated in the newsletter from the Friedenskooperative and Atomwaffenfrei.jetzt:

In the coming weeks, crucial decisions will be made regarding peace work. Whether on the streets at the large demonstration in Wiesbaden, with strong protests against Franco-German nuclear weapons cooperation, or during the strategic review in the closing webinar of the NPT Conference: We need your support right now.

Only if many people take action can we counter the knee-jerk calls for new nuclear and conventional rearmament in Europe with a strong, unmistakable signal for peace and disarmament. Join us and take part in these three key actions — for a safe and nuclear-weapon-free future!

Three possibilities for action

  • Demonstration “No medium-range weapons, anywhere!” on May 30 in Wiesbaden
The U.S.’s original plans to station new missiles and cruise missiles in Germany are off the table for now. But the relief is short-lived: Now voices from German and European politics are vehemently calling for the rapid development and deployment of new medium-range weapons under their own control. A dangerous new arms race looms right on our doorstep!
  • Postcard Campaign “NO to Franco-German Nuclear Cooperation”
French President Macron is pushing ahead with nuclear armament and is even considering the use of nuclear weapons as a supposed “warning.” It is alarming that Germany is expected to play a key role in this: Chancellor Merz has already established a bilateral “Nuclear Steering Group” together with Macron. Germany must not participate in this extremely dangerous policy of nuclear arms buildup! For genuine, sustainable security, we do not need secret nuclear agreements, but rather arms control, disarmament, and a clear commitment to the ban on nuclear weapons.
It’s that easy to get involved: Send our campaign postcard or a pre-written email directly to the French ambassador and to Chancellor Merz. Request postcards for free here or participate directly online via email .
  • Sharpen your knowledge and strategy!
Webinar marking the conclusion of the NPT Conference on June 2 (5:00 p.m.)
To conclude our three-part online discussion series, we take stock of the situation. How should the results of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Conference be assessed? What consequences arise for the three pillars of nuclear disarmament, and how should the German government’s role be evaluated? We also look ahead: to the 30th anniversary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty in September and the important review conference on the treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons at the end of the year.
