British Data Retention Unlawful
The British High Court has rejected the UK data retention law as not compatible with EU law in parts. The law was adopted in July 2014, two Labour MPs however, had complained about it. The British VDS gives investigators access to telephone and Internet data that must be stored by the telecommunications and Internet provider for one year.
The Britsche VDS is part of the emergency law "Data Retention and Investigatory Powers Act" (Dripa). The government wants to go in the appeal.
