Militarization of German policy assumes grotesque
This is what happens when you let the military determine the policy. After the receipt of a letter of the Head of State of the West African state Liberia to Ms. Merkel the Defense Ministry of Ursula von der Leyen (CDU) told SPIEGEL ONLINE on Wednesday, she had "immediately" called for equipment which would suit Liberias needs. Meanwhile, they have committed to send equipment worth 5 million euros.
The "material" for the Kurdish fighters against IS-militia is now more than 600 tons of material from depots throughout Germany: 120 rocket-propelled grenades (Panzerfäuste), 4,000 assault rifles, as many guns and 20 anti-tank weapons of type Milan, but also tents, trucks and goggles with a total value of 70 million euros. The cost of transportation and lessons for killing would be additional.
How politicians come to this weighting of 5:70, at the end rather 5: 100?
With 5 million euros they will try to keep some people alive and with weapons for 70 million euros a hundred times so many people will be killed over the next 20 years. The life of mass destruction G3 and G36 assault rifles is specified to 20-30 years by peace research institutes.

Wie unterschiedlich die Gewichtung ist, konnte ich am 25.9. auf dem Rückweg von der Aktion beim NSA-Untersuchungsausschuss erleben. Mitten im Tiergarten kommen uns 20-30 ukrainische Militärs unter Führung von 2-3 Bundeswehrsoldaten entgegen. Sollten die hier mal NATO-Luft schnuppern? Wer hat die eingeladen und wozu und wer bezahlt den "Spaß"?
